Full moon potion making! (with friends)

With full moon in Aries this month of October, my life has felt like a whirlwind, a powerful shifting tide. Just a few weeks ago, I moved my life, my family home, and my business to a completely new neighborhood, Happy Valley, Oregon. As the autumn breezes shake the leaves upside down, and dust devils swirl about in the corner of my eye, I wonder how and when I will fully land.

And then, on the eve of the full moon rising, I welcomed my first visitors~ my dear friend Sharon Ann Rose and her sweet little wizard. And guess what?

We made potions.

These potions are made of the simple things… of joy, discovery, and adventure. They are the ancients who speak to us in our bones, while we weave together in the wonder that which lay between us. We discover what is deeply contained in the essence of things, the things that are mostly found when we are together, and with the elements of Mother Nature.

A red maple leaf, a sprig of holly, an acorn, and a mysterious nut from a tree we had never seen before (it turned out to be a Chitum, as an elder woman who crossed our path shared with us with such heart.) We danced and played in the rarity of the sunlit day, just a day before the big rain and wind storms came. We reveled in the scent of the harvest that lay all around us, and in both the inner child and wise mystic within us, the one who calls us home.

Pinon, Pine cone, Snowberry…. Oak leaf…

We came home to make a warm meal and to roast some chestnuts. With a sprinkle of prayers, and salted brown buttery chocolate in hand… we each filled up the jar with our dreams for the coming autumn days.

I am so enamored by the secrets of alchemy, and the co~creative processes of life. Sometimes I wonder who belongs to who… and who is dreaming up who.

All I know is after my visitors left, my new house felt like home.
